Description

This eastern chipmunk, tamis striatus, in apple tree, acrylic layers, then layers of oil paints, some of the old masters went for acrylics, because of their faster drying, and they didn't want the underlayers to blend together, so acrylics were chosen for their beginning layers for faster drying, then the oils were placed on their paintings. If any colors they wanted to blend, they would blend on their palette, and not on the painting. The inspiration for the painting of the chipmunk, was the running up our steps while we were sitting on the porch, and back down again, several times. So in the house I went for my camera, and took pictures of this precious little chipmunk, inspiration led to the painting of this precious little one.
