Description
This is an original painting with a foundation of acrylics layered with oils of sunflowers in the wild in the background of a mountainous landscape. It is a 9 x 12" horizontal landscape artwork on art paper by Strathmore. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has always been my inspiration for the mountains in my paintings. Joyfully painting for you, family & friends, Rosie Foshee

Thank you, Jim. I like to create paintings that have a message behind the artwork. The sunflowers in the morning turn their "face" toward the east, and in the evening as the sun sets, these flowers turn their "face" toward the west. And I see this as amazing. That is where they get their name from, the rising and setting of the sun, and these flowers literally follow the sun. I had to do some thinking about how to position these flowers for viewers, with the sun in the background. The best way to position these flowers for the eyes of the viewer, was the flowers were in the process of turning their "faces" and had not finished their turning toward the sun. I received sunflowers on Mother's day from one of our daughters, and every flower is an inspiration for painting. Again, thank you for your complement of my artwork. I am in the process of another painting, an open doorway with flowers about the doorway. Joyfully painting for my viewers, Rosie Foshee .
