Crimson Asters Acrylic Painting by Rosie Foshee

The asters are late summer to early fall flowers. The petals in the asters are so numerous, which is like some asters, you wouldn't want to count them. Even though I painted the petals, no way would I want to count them. This is an original painting, with Golden's acrylics on Strathmore acid-free (meaning archival quality) art paper, brushworks by my hand.

Aster flowers brings beauty to a landscape, but their abilities does not stop there. They also bring beauty into our homes, walls & decor, such as original paintings and prints, framed prints, posters, acrylic art, canvas art, metal art, wall art sets, wood art, greeting cards for special occasions, throw pillows for decor in the family room, entry way, tote bags, etc.

And the best of the abilities the aster flower accomplishes is sharing with us of God. The aster flower, with its many elongated petals, is described as a star shaped flower by many, So out of curiosity, I pulled out my Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, and looked up the word star in the earlier writings, and in Matthew 2:2, the wise men from the east saw HIS star, the Babe Jesus's star, and the star guided them to worship the Christ Child, and in the Greek, the star was named Aster.

May the aster flower always remind you of the birth of Christ, and the purpose of His coming into the world, John 3:16 KJV "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."

In 1 Corinthians 15:41, the aster star again is mentioned, "for one star differeth from another star in glory," and this time it introduces the before and after the resurrection of our bodies.

1. sown (as a seed) in corruption, raised (to rise up) in incorruption (verse 42)
2, sown in dishonour, raised in glory (verse 43)
3. sown in weakness, raised in power (verse 43)
4. sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body (verse 44)
5. borne the image of the earthy, bear the image of the heavenly (verse 49)

Keep this in your mind and in your heart, We have so much to look forward to. When the signs of spring and summer are here, let the flowers rising up from the earth, remind you of the heavenly body you can look forward to having one day.

Joyfully painting for you, family & friends,
